Fine used on cover. A particularly interesting cover addressed to Lieutenant-Colonel Frederick Clinton (1804?1870) at Ashley Clinton, Lymington, Hampshire. Frederick Clinton was a British Army officer from one of Britain's most distinguished military families. He was the son of Lieutenant-General Sir Henry Clinton GCB (1771?1829), a veteran of the Napoleonic Wars, and the grandson of General Sir Henry Clinton KB (1730?1795), the British Commander-in-Chief in North America during the American War of Indepe
